Improving the LVRT Capability of the DFIG- Based Wind Turbines during Fault

According to the coordination control of a dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) and an inductive fault current limiter (FCL), this paper proposes efficient low-voltage ride-through (LVRT) scheme for doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) based wind turbine. The DVR is located DFIG’s stator circuit stabilizing terminal decreasing current. FCL connected rotor suppressing overcurrent protecting converter. Theoretical discussions on structure, principle scale criterion combined DVR-FCL are conducted, simulation analyses proposed approach handle symmetrical asymmetrical faults done in MATLAB/Simulink. In study, characteristics DFIG during analyzed from multiple aspects, detailed comparison single action or carried out. From results, effectiveness superiority well demonstrated.
